I had today off of work, so naturally I made a wonderful "to-do list", of which I got 2.5 items crossed off (there were 9 things on there to do). But whatever, right? Today I had planned a 3 mile run for the treadmill at the gym. I was also going to go to a Yoga class. I never made it to the gym.
At about 3:00pm, I headed outside for my run and was only able to complete 2.5 miles of it, half of which I walked. It was a really horrible run. I had no energy, no motivation, and my body wasn't happy with me. It was also pretty warm here in Florida, 72*, with a very sunny sky. I hate warm weather, especially when I am exercising. I am a snow girl, trapped in Florida. So needless to say, I came in from my run very discouraged.
I can always count on my peeps from Runner's World to lift my spirits. They assured me that I did not already reach my running climax and that there were many, many, many more happy runs to come. I just have to give my body a few more days to recover from Saturday's race. Will do!
Run & Food

Breakfast: bagel w/ peanut butter, orange juice
Lunch: grilled cheese, pickle, pita chips
Snack: Strawberries on shortcake
Dinner: Healthy Choice Chicken Alfredo (completey tasteless & unfulfilling)
Snack: veggies w/ dip
Dessert: stupid Swiss Rolls and 1 Milano cookie
Late-night-dessert-time seems to be my downfall...a plan of attack needs to be implemented!

We all have those days! Cheer up and you'll have a better run ome other days. Like you, I'm trying to let my body recover from my first race yesterday.
